Sun lights up a new day
secure in planetary way.
Night cool lingers, fingers
of cool steal in open windows.
Trees are breathing through
their lungs of leaves. There
is no shade like a tree’s.
In the city building’s canyons
teem with chorus of humanity.
Sky chimes with clouds
rippled, buffeted by wind.
These are the constants we
factor the pleasures of life in.
