Phantom Visit by Thompson Emate

Poem

He comes unannounced,
As sleep takes over the body,
He comes out of the blues,
As the east wind blows
from the coast,
The time He shows forth,
None can tell,
When the lurking God visits,
Time is not a constraint,
The day is not a barrier,
He comes in uncertain ways,
He cuts through
the deepest darkness,
We can’t see Him,
His shadow leads,
I followed my shadow,
As it follows His,
Our shadows are in control,
As they lead us,
A chilling sensation
runs down our body,
The feeling which we ignore,
The fever we love,
For it is only but a moment,
The coast will be clear,
All we desire we’ll see.
