Poet Bio

A Poem A Day writing prompt: A Way of Being Free

I have gotten
Used to punk rock beats
Between blues, saxophone Jesus
praying in trains
for peanuts, raisins and banana
2 for the price of one

Belhar-Delft!
Athlone-Mowbray-Kaap

And the shopping trolley nomads
That hurries up Modderdam road

and the bath tub man
collecting dog food bags
and the gray-scale woman sketched with
charcoal poverty against the Cape Flats Nature Reserve
placard saying: THESE ANIMALS LIVE HERE

I am still working on the Bio part…But I write because I have to.
