Poem to a Poet by Siza Nkosi

I can only bring words to the altar of your soul
Yet sometimes I have no words to offer
But when my pen sinks in the sea of my blank mind
Sounds of your poetry carry me to my highest self
You entice my senses please don’t stop
Make love to my mind please don’t stop
You feed my soul, teach me how to love
Freely like the thoughts on your poetry pages
Sweetly like expressions landing you on world stages
I want what wakes you up at night to write
I want what tells your mind to rhyme
I want what makes you not to keep track of time
When your reality and words reunite
I need you to remain, Poet
For when you are, I also am
