Born Wandisile Kevin, Accolade Motha is a poet, author, writer, and creative entrepreneur with an extraordinary fascination with human evolution and personal development. Motha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioural Sciences with Psychology and Labour Relations Management from the North-West University (2020) and continues to extend his academic career.
Accolade Motha was born and raised in Ermelo, Mpumalanga where his writing career began. Starting as a public speaker with a national title, he found himself through writing poetry and signing with a poetry movement called “WeArePoetsTheMovement” (2015). This is when he transitioned from Public Speaking to Performance Arts/ Poetry.
His work as a writer and performance poet has since been excelling. As a poet and writer, he has managed to diversify his abilities through writing, performing, and starring in Ad scripts for Uhuru TV, a creative digital App from Sharpeville, South Africa in collaboration with Studio Uhuru (2021). Motha has self-published a debut poetry collection titled Drawing Deep Breaths (2021) and co-authored a book titled Monate Mpolaye (2020).
Accolade has his own publishing services business The Accolade Motha Poetry, specializing in copy-editing, ghost-writing to custom writing. To date, AM Poetry has worked and helped publish six books by different authors.
Accolade’s writing takes an introspective approach and deals with social interactions ranging from love, human evolution and understanding of divinity. Some of his writing focuses on the necessity of mental health.

Accolade was voted one of the top 100 Most Influential Men by North-West University in 2019. He was also a Mzansi Arts and Media Awards 2020 Best Poet Nominee. He had his first poetry tour called The Poetry Cancer Tour, based on his poetry philosophy (2019).
