Nolwazi Mbali Mahlangu is a poet and alumni of the Duma Ndlovu Actor’s Academy. She currently works as an art administrator at Drama for Life – University of the Witwatersrand. She is a slam judge, a poetry facilitator and has worked in various stage plays as a stage manager and theatre photographer at the TX Theatre.

She has one slam title (Goddess of the Mic 2018) and was a finalist at the Word’nSound slam in 2020. Her poems have been published in the Sol Plaatjie European Union Poetry Anthology Vol X and LitNet online magazine (3rd out of 281 submissions in Afrikaans).

She has worked with various festivals and change-making organisations to ensure that poetry is and remains a catalyst for change . These include Constitution Hill, World of Words, Word’nSound, National Library of South Africa, Nordic Africa Institute Library, City of Ekurhuleni & Hear My Voice). She has co-written a play titled Unmute with Lillian Tshabalala.
