You are cordially invited to Between Absence and Presence: a Book Reading and Dialogue series that will take place on the 29th of January 2016 at the Mandela Bay Development Agency foyer, 1st Floor Tramways Building, Corner of Lower Valley Road and South Union Street, Port Elizabeth. Doors open at 5.30pm and the event will run from 6pm to 8pm.

BAP final

Between Absence and Presence (BAP) is a book reading and dialogue series that explores Unathi Slasha’s unpublished debut novel “The Seamy Side” and Sisonkepapu’s unpublished debut poetry anthology, “Hurry Up, We Are Dying!” in an attempt to bridge the gap between absence and presence that exists between reader and poet, by acting as both guide and guided, in order to construct meaning together with the reader/ audience through reading and dialogue.

The event admission fee is R40 and this will be used as a means to take book reading and dialogue series to other parts of the country as a number of entities have indicated that they have a vested interest in it. The series will travel to Grahamstown and Cape Town in February and March respectively. We were hoping that we could lobby resources and ensure that this series becomes a successful one.

We look forward to seeing you along with your family and friends at this event.
