Quiet Nights by Mitja Lovše

Poem

You didn’t care,
you didn’t listen,
they have died and
you are on your own.

Never noticed,
never empathized,
they are ghosts and
you will not see them.

A glass of wine,
a resolute fireplace,
they will be found and
you shall be away later on.

A bitter wind passes by,
no love was ever certain.
