Sages of these Ages by Thembani Mbadlanyana

Poem

The sages
of these ages
fail to sail
to the future
And in vain
they fail
to see what
the future holds
for us
they have become
Of frail sixth sense
and in essence,
so lacklustre
in their craft
thus;
it might seem,
we float directionless
in the raft
without noticing
we are motionless
on thin ice
floating raft
and that;
We are living
on the edges
of our borrowed time
but nonetheless,
hallowed be those
senseless sages!
