Seasons Change by Francis Conlon

Poem

Comes the changing of the season,
I’m glad to see a new nature’s plan,
Planetary orbits are part of the reason,
Copernicus helped us understand.

Soon new heavenly lights will glow,
Wise men follow a mysterious star,
A revelation, a miracle, an ethereal show,
I’ll watch intently as cosmic forces spar.

Rain and wind are on the way,
Social storms have met their match,
Nature’s washing, a thunderous say,
Most dramatic the lightning strike and scratch.

The year concludes; ideas I’ll suspend,
A new canvas for life’s endeavors.
The new year retains some odds and end,
Alas, I reheat some select leftovers.
