Silenced “the Myth” by Lunathi Obafemi

Lunathi Obafemi | March 21st, 2017 | a poem a day challenge, poetry | No Comments

Drag me along the wretched path
Sting me with your rusty weapon
Sharpen your knife with a purpose
Lead me to self-destruct and watch me perish

Deceive me to walk into the pit
Shudder at the thought of my success
Layout the plot to destroy me
Abuse me, curse me until you are satisfied

Eradicate my image to hide my existence
Draw me close only to mutilate me
Re-arrange my face in order to claim power
Fly solo when singing your victory song

In case you haven’t noticed
I am still here… You have been fighting the wrong battle
GOD has never left my side! So, Hello stranger!
