This skin by Nkwana Joshua

Poem

rather pile my clothes
from 70’s to 90’s collection.
in wardrobes that looks like Kazi street corners-
always with more to choose from.

rather paint and re-shape my canvas
in all sort of artistic ways
that would fit the crowd-
just to make my walk look good!

rather speak nothing on comedy shows,
than trying a joke about my skin!

This skin is not a playground
for boys and girls like you;
who know nothing of how golden it looks.
