Streets of Durban by Kayla Hill

Kayla Hill | September 6th, 2017 | poetry | No Comments

Inner city
Deep within
Locked in
Buildings surround

Hooters honking
People pushing pavements
Walking
Yawning
Clothing giving away every occupation

Road side shops selling hats and slops
One way highway
Carbon emissions on a Durban day mission

J- walking
Cutting lanes
Music pumping
Shrieking brakes
Life decisions and mistakes

Durban the warmest place to be
But ask yourself are you truly free?
