Poet Bio

The bigot is strong again.
the bigot is strong;
his belly greedy, his fingers long.
The bigot is strong again.
The bigot is strong.
How can we stand?
Against his machinations, planned,
meticulous hatred,
spreading us thin.
Guarding for our safety once again,
against those smiling men,
with hate in their eyes.
While people of colour.
Women.
Queer.
Here we are, here,
at the birth of another year,
and bigots stand tall again,
infecting the world with hate and murder.
Kings, preachers, bankers,
fascist wankers:
drinking at their victim’s blood,
filling up their tankards.
Of course we are dismayed.
Of course we are afraid.
Our lives laid flat,
guts strewn, limbs splayed.
The bigot is strong again.
the bigot is strong;
his reign reborn, his shadow long.
The bigot is strong again.
The bigot is strong.
