The Sojourn by Thompson Emate

Poem

Our weary body
switches off,
For a transient
moment,
We transcend to
another realm,
A realm beyond
the seen,
The script is rolled
out,
We play out
our roles,
As victors, weaklings
or vanquished,
No time is given to
perfect a scene,
We are like puppets
pulled by string,
We walk on the path
our feet find,
The movie is
interrupted,
We’re back to reality,
Here,
You mind your head,
Here,
You walk with
caution,
It’s no longer the
imaginary,
It’s somewhere
outside the
dreamstate,
It’s beyond a dream.
