The Story of Tea by Sophia Vona

Poem

The rowdy lad pulls her pigtails
madam creaks “pass the tea”
She has not seen its soggy entrails
seeping in embroidered seams

It’s not ‘til young miss starts to wail
and monsieur starts to shout
That other patrons turn to stare
and my boss goes to kick them out

Dear auntie stands abruptly
to protest, “oh, oppression, woe!”
But does not see she punctuates her exit
with a show

This weary missus used the loo before we brought the scones,
Yet forgot to pull her zipper up above her bottom’s close!
