As we sit among those who hear
Your word
we, ever Your humble servant,
stand in Your court.
Convictions passed like decrees,
echoing in vaulted silence.
They see me as a tightened knot
unraveling slowly,
held together by trembling grace,
as things fall apart.
They call me sinner.
But religion too has verses
still waiting to be understood.
Still, I kneel
Father, let Thy will be done.
