Travelling Alone Across the Forest by SIMRAN SURI

Poem

Nothing left but the shadows of myself,
Thinking of everyone I left behind
I journey far and farther,
Not chasing destiny,
But searching for who I truly am.

With every breath I draw,
I peel back the layers within,
Yet still, I wander, a confused soul
Travelling alone across the forest.

Life’s wounds weigh heavy,
Regrets sting like thorns,
Tears fall in solitude,
Strength forged in silence
But still, I walk alone,
Travelling alone across the forest.
Now, the sun sinks low,
Time slips quietly away,
A smile blooms as I gaze at the endless sky.
I feel my heart grow strong,
And realise, I am not alone.

The forest, once a stranger,
Has become my closest friend.
