Poem

Viscosity

on my mind, the weather is a sea creature.
it’s Thursday known as death’s day.
eye
still in the creature’s vault.

then it was me and it; a freak mutualism:
something out of a grotesque setting.
yet we

stride over the viscosity of this water, tending
webbed and skinny feet, hoping a buzzing winged

meal, which is two from the insecta, crosses
this side of the pond.
