Voltaire In His Garden by Mitja Lovše

Poem

The gatherers of beliefs
had noticed the similarities
between those that hate each other.

They wished to present this,
they could’ve solved the issues
that plagued the planet for a while.

No one listened to them
despite this information,
which could destroy the wars.

Way too many protested,
way too many liked the status quo,
way too many carried on with their haste.

Nothing ever changes,
nothing ever does.
