Poem

Were you there?
Were you there?
Click
Clack
Clacking on stone
Virtuous voices wail
Shattering bone
Were you there?
Were you there?
Condemned “them” to carry
The weight of robed masters
Unwilling to care
With inverted Bible
Hands mimicking prayer
Two falls,
a tarry…poor Mother so pale
(you like her white-washed & blue-eyed expression pinned–stale)

A Helper
A Cleanser
offend the truth bender

Inhumane, full of woe
Ankles in shackles–quite a show.
Humiliation on stations
across the whole damned nation.

Hung on the cross
Strung ‘round the necks
Of those who, now, decide
Who should be struck, laid down to rest
Were you there?
Were you there,
Watching from your armchair?
