The audience votes proved to be true game-changers place Soetry in the No 1 spot. We are excited to see this slam champion return to the throne.

Taking part in the next #WNSDigitalSlam is easy, all you have to do is sign up and get your videos ready. Here’s how it all works:

STEP 1: Sign up online

The sign up form will be open for 24hrs 2 weeks prior to the slam. Only poets who sign up within the given time will be considered for the slam. The next sign up period will be midday Friday 12 March – midday Saturday 13 March.

STEP 2: Tune in to the live draw

To determine the performance list and order, we will draw names from the sign-up sheet. This draw takes place 1 hour after sign-ups close and will be streamed live on our Facebook page at 15:00 (South African Time). All selected performers will also be notified by email.

STEP 3: Submit your 2 min video poem

All performers will then have 4 days to record a poem and send to the Word N Sound team.

STEP 4: Tune in to the show on our Facebook page

The #WNSDigitalSlam will be broadcast on our Facebook page on the last Saturday of every month at 13:00 (South African Time). Get your friends to tune in and share with more of their friends. Like, comment, share & enjoy the show.

STEP 5: Get your friends to vote

The next 6 hrs after the show will be open to allow the audience to vote for their favourite poems. Get your friends to like and share your performance video from our YouTube, Facebook or Twitter pages. Audience voting will close at 21:00 on the night of the show. Every like and share will earn the poet 1 additional point to be added to the judges’ scores.

STEP 6: Tune in to the live results show Finally, our results show will also be streamed live on Facebook on the last Sunday of every month at 15:00. Tune in to find out what the judges thought of the slam, who made it to the Top 5 and who won.

Good luck
